1. How can I be notified when a snow emergency is in place?

Click on the Notify Me button on the home page. You can the subscribe to the Snow Ordinance alert.

2. Where do I get snow removal information after hours?

Any updates will be posted on our website. You can also tune in to your favorite radio station for snow removal updates. Local forecasts are also broadcast on cable channel 9 and appear in The Hawk Eye.

3. When does a parking prohibition take effect and where?

When an emergency is declared by the City Manager or when there is an accumulation of 2" of snow, a parking prohibition takes effect and parking is prohibited on designated snow routes.

4. When will the plows be in my area?

An orderly procedure has been established for snow removal. Plow operators follow the order. Rest assured they'll be there as quickly as possible.

5. What is the order for snow removal on City streets?

1) Bridges/overpasses
2) Street designated as snow routes
3) Secondary routes
4) Remaining residential streets

6. Can I park on posted snow routes?

Yes, if parking is normally allowed on a snow route street, but your vehicle MUST BE REMOVED when snow depth reaches a depth of 2" or an emergency is declared by the City Manager. Violations is subject to a $25 fine and tow. Tune into local radio stations for snow removal updates.

7. I scooped my drive out and the plows came back and plowed it shut again... Why?

During a snow event, plows will work to keep driving lanes open. When the storm stops, plows will return to push the snow to the curb.
