[ARCHIVED] News Release - Pilger/Pearl from Sunnyside to Gnahn including Bertsch

The Public Works Directors Office announced today that effective immediately, the City’s contractor will continue work on the 2015 HMA Resurfacing Project with construction moving to Pilger/Pearl from Sunnyside to Gnahn including Bertsch, this portion of the project is expected to take 1 week weather permitting.

This HMA resurfacing work will result in temporary street closures and/or lane restrictions. The closures and restrictions are required to permit the removal of the old asphalt surface and the cleaning and repair of the street surface prior to asphalt resurfacing. Additionally, once work begins on a street, there will be no parking on the streets within the construction zones until the street surface is restored. Motorists should be cautious of exposed utilities and barricades along the length of the project.

The entire project includes milling, patching, and new asphalt surface on various streets throughout the city. The entire project is expected to take between 8 and 10 weeks.

Additional news releases will be made as the contractor mobilizes to other areas of the project.
