[ARCHIVED] Burlington Fire Department responds to house fire

Press Release

October 28, 2022

At 2:08 AM Friday, October 27th, 2022, the Burlington Fire Department was dispatched to 1613 Lincoln ST for a report of thick smoke coming from a furnace. Firefighters arrived 5 minutes later and found nothing showing on arrival. As the initial engine company made access to the second floor, light smoke was reported. Fire in the attic space above the non-adjoining bedroom and bathroom was confirmed and confined to that area.

1613 Lincoln St is owned by Ryan Bradley and the home is insured. The homeowner was alerted by working detectors.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Burlington Fire Department and is not considered suspicious.

Eleven on-duty Burlington firefighters responded to the incident and were assisted by four West Burlington firefighters responding on automatic aid. Burlington Police Department and Alliant Energy also assisted at the scene. Red Cross is assisting the property owner. The property was turned over to the owner at 04:10 AM. There were no reported injuries.
