[ARCHIVED] Burlington Fire Department responds to mobile home fire

Press Release

At 06:59 AM Monday December 13, 2021 the Burlington Fire Department responded to a reported mobile home fire at Green Acres Mobile Home Park, 11912 Hwy 99 lot # 63, located in Tama Township.  Burlington firefighters arrived on the scene at 07:05 AM to find the exterior of the mobile home on fire extending to the roof line.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire on the exterior and minimize further damage.  The mobile home is owned by Integrity Builders and is insured.  The occupants of the mobile home were not home at the time of fire.  Damage is estimated at $10,000 to the structure and $2,500 to contents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Burlington Fire Department and is not considered to be suspicious.

Twelve Burlington firefighters responded to the call with an additional call back of off duty personnel.  Three West Burlington firefighters responded on automatic aid.  Due to the fire being quickly extinguished, other mutual aid departments were disregarded.  Des Moines County Sheriff Deputies assisted at the scene. There were no injuries reported.

Firefighters cleared the scene at 08:23AM.
