[ARCHIVED] 4/13/20 - 5th Street from Locust to Walnut Street

5th Street

Starting Monday, April 13th, construction crews will have additional impacts on 5th Street from Locust to Walnut Street (see attached map).  Initially, crews from FYE Excavating will be removing what remains of the old roadway, installing new storm sewer (highlighted in yellow on the attachment), and preparing the road for paving.  Following storm sewer installation on each block, MJ Daly will begin paving the streets, intersections, and driveway approaches.  This activity is expected to progress one block at a time.  During this process, residents will not be allowed to park in front of or access their properties from 5th Street.  Each block is expected to be impacted for approximately 2-4 weeks, depending on the weather.

If you have any questions throughout construction, please feel free to contact City staff on the job site or call the public works office at 319-753-8176.
