The Public Works Directors Office announced today that starting on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 7:00 a.m. the City’s contractor will continue work on the 2016 HMA Resurfacing Project with construction on Plane Street from Aetna to Division. This portion of the project is expected to take 1 to 2 days weather permitting and will be closed to through traffic during this time. The closure is required to permit the removal of the old asphalt surface and the cleaning and repair of the street surface prior to asphalt resurfacing. Additionally, once work begins on a street, there will be no parking on the streets within the construction zones until the street surface is restored. Motorists should be cautious of exposed utilities and barricades along the length of the project. The entire project includes milling, patching, and new asphalt surface on various streets throughout the city. Additional news releases will be made as the contractor mobilizes to other areas of the project.
